UNC linguists at BUCLD 49

Several UNC linguists and alumni presented last weekend at the 49th Annual Boston University Conference on Language Development. They presented the following works:

  • Erin Humphreys (BA 2023, MA 2024) and Misha Becker. “Object animacy as a cue for learning mental verbs without propositional complements”
  • Kristen Syrett (Rutgers University) and Misha Becker. “Syntactic complementation signals emotion/mental state, but not color or shape, for young children acquiring adjectives”
  • Megan Gotowski (MA, 2014; now at William & Mary) and Forrest Davis (Colgate). “Rage against the machine: Comparing human and model performance with adjective learning”
