Jen Smith gave a keynote address at the workshop “Nominal Inflection and Word Formation at the Phonology-Morphology Interface” (NoWPhoMo), held at the University of Barcelona and the Autonomous University of Barcelona in late January.  Her presentation reviewed results of experiments on blend formation in English and Spanish by the Sporklab research group, an NSF-funded collaboration including LING faculty Elliott Moreton and Katya Pertsova and MA alums Rachel Broad, Metta Crouse, Brandon Prickett, and Katherine Shaw.

She also gave a colloquium talk in the Department of Catalan Philology and General Linguistics at the University of Barcelona, on implementing a stratified-lexicon analysis of loanword phonology in Harmonic Grammar.
