Graduation Recognition Ceremony

Every May, the Department of Linguistics holds a graduation recognition ceremony and reception. It’s a chance for us to congratulate and honor our graduates, and meet their friends and family.

Specific information about each year’s ceremony and reception will be sent to graduating seniors by email, and posted on this web site, by mid-April.

In 2024, the Linguistics recognition ceremony will take place at the Friday Center at the same time as a few other departments’ ceremonies, but separately, with breakfast refreshments offered in a combined reception space.

2024 Linguistics Ceremony information and RSVP links

• Date: Saturday, May 11, 2024, 9-11 am
• Place: The Friday Center
  • Visitor and ADA/accessibility parking is available at the Friday Center (no permit necessary)
• Recognition ceremony: Approximately 9:15 to 9:45am
  • Brief remarks from a member of the Linguistics Department faculty
  • Recognition certificates presented to the graduates
• Reception: From the end of the ceremony to 11:00am
  • Coffee and breakfast refreshments
